ISO/IEC JTC1/SC22/WG5 N1645 Announcement Meeting of ISO/IEC JTC1/SC22/WG5 February 13-17, 2006 George Mason University, Fairfax, Virginia 22032, USA The next meeting of WG5 will be held at George Mason University, Fairfax, Virginia 22032, USA from February 13-17, 2006. The local organizer is Dan Nagle, (703) 425-0983 (home), dnagle@gmu.edu (email). 1. OBJECTIVES OF THE MEETING The major items of business for this meeting will be: A. Considering the Repository of Requirements (SD5) and making a firm choice of significant features for the next revision of Part 1 of the Fortran Standard. WG5 will consider whether changes, including additions, should be made to the Repository and will make a firm choice of features of severity level 4 and above, as defined in N1594. B. Considering the defect reports (interpretations) in J3-006. WG5 will advance the processing of the defect reports and, if appropriate, prepare the second Corrigendum for Fortran 2003. 2. ORGANIZATION OF THE MEETING At the start on Monday and the end on Friday, this will be a normal WG5 meeting. For the rest of the time, the meeting will be a joint meeting with J3. Much of the time will be spent in sub-groups of all the delegates present. There will also be plenary sessions, either of WG5 with John Reid in the chair or of J3 with Dan Nagle in the chair. The exact timings will be agreed between John and Dan from day to day. Note that Friday is a full working day, as in Delft. This is because the meeting room is not available on a Sunday. Essentially, Sunday to Thursday have been shifted to Monday to Friday and we have skipped the short session that we usually have on Friday. Closing business for both J3 WG5 will be late on Friday afternoon. Please plan to leave (as early as you like) on Saturday. 3. DOCUMENTS It is essential that all delegates have access to the Fortran 2003 DIS (N1601), the Repository (SD5), and the defect reports (J3-006) at the meeting. Delegates should also bring N1594 and all documents from N1630 onwards. 4. LOCAL ARRANGEMENTS The local host will be Dan Nagle, (dnagle@gmu.edu), who has prepared a separate document (N1646) with details of local arrangements. 5. REGISTRATION Heads of delegations are reminded that the names of those who will be in their delegations should be communicated to both the Convener and the hosts no later than one month before the start of the meeting. 6.
