ISO/IEC/JTC1/SC22/WG5-N1656 Annexe to Repository of Requirements 01 March 2006 The WG5 Repository of Requirements (WG5-N1649) for the most part describes requirements as originally requested by national bodies. Resolution F5 from the February 2006 WG5 meeting (in WG5-N1653) gives an overview of the approval status of these requirements. However reading only N1649 and N1653 is potentially misleading since some items have been merged and the scope of some items is now different from the original proposal. This note, intended to be read in conjunction with N1649 and N1653, shows the principal such changes. For references to the latest papers on each item see J3/06-010r1 or subsequent revisions thereof. Changes in scope have occurred as follows. J3-014 Parameterized module facility (class B) This has been superseded by Intelligent Macros (J3/06-123r1 and J3/06-142). J3-047 TYPELESS objects (class B) This has been developed as BITS (J3/05-274r3 and J3/06-131). RU-003 Extend the obsolescent features list (class A/D) This was reduced to two items (WG5-N1638): - delete statement functions: now classed D - obsolesce ENTRY statement: still classed A (J3/05-244r3). RU-005 Extend a set of array intrinsic functions (class B) A set of 20 functions was defined in WG5-N1637. In February 2006 this was reduced to four, all of which occur also in the J3-047 proposal. UK-001 Co-array Fortran for parallel programming (class A) This has been considerably developed; see J3/05-208 and J3/06-122r1. The following pairs of items have been merged. The class shown is that determined in February 2006. class title J3-006 UK-004 D Find all available logical and character kinds J3-042 J3-041 B Interoperability of pointers, allocatables, and assumed-shape arrays and optional arguments RU-001 J3-039 A Remove restriction on the maximum rank of arrays RU-002 J3-024 B EXIT from any labeled construct RU-005 J3-047 B Extend a set of array intrinsic functions (see above) Also, RU-006 has been rejected but its aims should be largely satisfied by J3-008.
