ISO/IEC JTC1/SC22/WG5 N1701 Announcement Meeting of ISO/IEC JTC1/SC22/WG5 February 10-15, 2008 Emerald Suites, 9145 South Las Vegas Boulevard, Las Vegas, USA The next meeting of WG5 will be held at Emerald Suites, 9145 South Las Vegas Boulevard, Las Vegas, USA, from February 10-15, 2008. The local organizer is Jim Xia (Email: jimxia@ca.ibm.com, Phone (1)(905)413-3444). 1. OBJECTIVES OF THE MEETING The major items of business for this meeting will be: A. Review the current working draft for the next revision of Part 1 of the Fortran Standard. B. Reaffirm or modify the timetable in ISO/IEC JTC1/SC22/WG5 N1693 for the revision of Part 1 of the Fortran Standard. C. Consider the defect reports (interpretations) in J3-006. 2. ORGANIZATION OF THE MEETING At the start on Sunday, this will be a normal WG5 meeting. For the rest of the time, the meeting will be a joint meeting with J3. Much of the time will be spent in sub-groups of all the delegates present. There will also be plenary sessions, either of WG5 with John Reid in the chair or of J3 with Dan Nagle in the chair. The exact timings will be agreed between John and Dan from day to day. Closing business for both J3 and WG5 will be on Friday. 3. DOCUMENTS It is essential that all delegates have access to the Fortran 2003 DIS (N1601), the current working draft for the revision of Fortran 2003 (J3-007), and the defect reports (J3-006) at the meeting. Delegates should also bring all documents from N1667 onwards. 4. LOCAL ARRANGEMENTS The local host has prepared a separate document (N1698) with details of local arrangements. 5. REGISTRATION Heads of delegations are reminded that the names of those who will be in their delegations should be communicated to both the Convener and the hosts no later than one month before the start of the meeting. 6.
