UK GB-01 WG5 considered this suggestion carefully. Opinion was divided, with a majority of members opposed to the construction of a subset. They were opposed because progress is being made by vendors towards full implementation of Fortran 2003 and the construction of a subset would discourage this. Furthermore, it was apparent from the discussion that the choice of features to include would probably be controversial. GB-02 No action was taken since this topic has been discussed extensively at previous WG5 meetings, which made it clear that all possibilities of meeting this request would lead to more NO votes. GB-03 Changes have been made to address the defect identified. WG5 is sympathetic to the idea of deleting the arithmetic IF statement, but the change is not necessary and would have involved more extensive changes than correcting the defect. The changes were detailed in 10-107r2. GB-04 The ALL STOP statement has been renamed ERROR STOP, see 10-108r1. GB-06 Changes have been made to address this comment, see 10-109r2.
