Nearest tube/underground stations --------------------------------- Embankment (Northern, Bakerloo, District and Circle Lines) Charing Cross (Northern and Bakerloo lines) Covent Garden (Piccadilly line) Nearest train stations ---------------------- Charing Cross Waterloo Local buses ----------- There are many buses in this area - use the journey planner on the Transport for London's website. Oyster Cards ------------ The cheapest way to travel on the bus, tubes and local trains in London is with an Oyster Card. In fact you can only use an Oyster card, travel card or contactless payment on the buses (see TFL website www.tfl.gov.uk). Before you arrive in the UK you can buy a 'Visitor Oyster'. Visit www.tfl.gov.uk/travel-information/visiting-london/ for details. If you haven't bought a Visitor Oyster card before arriving in the UK you can buy an ordinary Oyster card (£3 refundable when you hand it in) at a tube or train station. At Heathrow you can buy an ordinary Oyster card at the tube station and at the other airports you can buy one at the train station. You can then top it up at machines in the ticket offices using cash or credit card. See paper N2037 for further details.
