ISO/IEC JTC1/SC22/WG5 N2151 Preliminary Local Arrangements for the Tokyo 2019 Meeting The joint WG5/J3 Tokyo meeting will take place as follows. This is a prelimi- nary notice for invitation purpose, and an official local arrangements will be distributed in due time. Date: August 5-9, 2019 Place: The University of Tokyo, Hongo Campus 7-3-1 Hongo, Bunkyo-ku, Tokyo, Japan https://www.u-tokyo.ac.jp/en/ Local Host: Takata, Masayuki Host Organization: IPSJ/ITSCJ (on behalf of JISC) https://www.itscj.ipsj.or.jp/itscj_english/ Facilities: Three meeting rooms (one for the plenary and two for the subgroups) are to be reserved in the Faculty of Engineering Bldg 2. Wi-Fi and projector/screen will be available. Some soft drinks and snacks will be prepared in the main room. There are cafeterias, restaurants and convenience stores in and around the campus, even in adjacent buildings. Accommodation: A close-by hotel will be block reserved. Our top priority is on the following, which is in two minutes from the campus. Forest Hongo https://www.forest-hongo.com/en/ Its availability will be known in February 2019, and a backup block reservation will be held until then. Transportation: Haneda Airport is the closest, but we recommend use of Keisei Skyliner from/to Narita Airport, which is quicker in many cases and directly leads you to Ueno Station, the final stop. From there, a taxi would costs you less than 1000 yen to get to the hotel. http://www.keisei.co.jp/keisei/tetudou/skyliner/us/ae_outline/ If you choose some other hotel, not in a walking distance, we recommend use of taxis to commute. The morning rush of public transportation is killing. August is a very busy season for traveling, and flight reservations should be done as early as possible. Social Activities: An official dinner is planned for Wednesday. FIDS and unofficial group dinners will be arranged as usual. If any spouses are expected, we will provide with some sightseeing information and/or volunteer student guides, if necessary.
