ISO/IEC JTC1/SC22/WG5 N2158 RESOLUTIONS OF THE WG5 MEETING ON JUNE 11 TO 15, 2018 IN BERKELEY, CA, USA The meeting was attended by the convenor and 24 members from five national member bodies. Resolutions B1 to B3 and B9 to B11 were approved by unanimous acclaim. Resolutions B4 to B8 were approved by unanimous consent. B1. Convenor of WG5 WG5 congratulates Steve Lionel on his appointment as WG5 convenor by SC22. B2. Appreciation of Webmaster WG5 expresses its appreciation to Steve Lionel for establishing and maintaining the new WG5 website. B3. Appreciation of NAG WG5 thanks NAG Ltd for hosting and supporting the WG5 website for many years upto 2017. B4. Disposition of comments on the Fortran 2018 DIS WG5 directs its Convenor to edit the formal Disposition of Comments response to the comments in the DIS ballot and to distribute it (WG5-N2153) to WG5 members for review. B5. Technical Content of Fortran 2018 FDIS WG5 directs its Project Editor to incorporate the amendments to N2146 which were decided during the meeting into an FDIS (WG5-N2155) and to distribute it to WG5 members for review. Following the review the document is to be submitted for FDIS ballot. B6. Content of and schedule for revision of Fortran 2018 WG5 encourages members in all countries to read WG5-N2147, which contains the results of a worldwide survey on possible future language developments, to read PL22.3 paper 18-156.txt which reviews the content of WG5-N2147 and to contribute further requirements during the coming months. The intention is that it should be possible to define the features to be in the next revision at the WG5 meeting in August 2019. B7. Strategic Plan for WG5 WG5 directs its Convenor to update its Strategic Plan (WG5-N2129) and to distribute it (WG5-N2154) to WG5 members for review. B8. TR on Avoiding Vulnerabilities in Programming Languages WG5 requests Dan Nagle, as editor of TR24772-8 'Guidance to Avoiding Vulnerabilities in Programming Languages - Part 8 Fortran', to progress the document to DTR ballot status during the next year and encourages members to contribute to the development. B9. Future Meetings WG5 thanks Masayuki Takata and IPSJ/ITSCJ on behalf of JISC for inviting WG5 to meet in Tokyo, Japan, on August 5 - 9, 2019. Further WG5 thanks Bill Long for investigating the possibility of holding a WG5 meeting in Minneapolis, MN, in the summer of 2020 and thanks Nathan Sircombe for investigating the possibility of holding a WG5 meeting in Manchester, UK, in the summer of 2021. B10. Vote of Thanks for Support WG5 thanks the management of the Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory, especially Richard Gerber, for generously providing the meeting rooms, IT facilities and refreshments for participants at the meeting. B11. Vote of Thanks WG5 expresses its appreciation to the convenor (Steve Lionel), the secretary (David Muxworthy) and the drafting committee (Reinhold Bader, Daniel Chen, David Muxworthy (chair), Dan Nagle and Masayuki Takata) for their contributions to the success of the meeting. WG5 wishes especially to thank Brian Friesen and Damian Rouson as co-hosts, together with Madelyn Blair, Zaida McCunney and Seleste Rodriguez, for the excellent arrangements for the business and social parts of the meeting. Further it wishes to thank Jerry Wagener for organizing the social events for former members which took place immediately prior to the meeting.
