ISO/IEC JTC1/SC22/WG5-N2247 RESOLUTIONS OF THE WG5 MEETING HELD ON JUNE 26 AND 27, 2025 IN BERKELEY, CA, USA The meeting was attended by the Convenor and 25 members from five national member bodies. Resolutions C1 to C8 were approved by unanimous consent. Resolutions C9 to C13 were approved by unanimous acclaim. C1. Strategic plan for 2025-2028 Apart from revisions of the technical content made at this meeting, WG5 confirms the strategic plan in document N2232. N2248 updates N2232 without changing the schedule going forward. C2. Asynchronous tasks WG5 resolves that work item US04, see N2234, be reduced to provide only non-blocking collective subroutines, see N2245. The remaining item is deferred to the revision after next of the Standard. WG5 directs INCITS/Fortran to continue working on both items. C3. US20 Add SCAN and CO_SCAN WG5 confirms that US20 should be included in the work list. C4. DIN1 Add execution of collective procedures on a specified team WG5 confirms that DIN1 should be included in the work list. C5. US22/DIN2 Add unions in interoperable derived types WG5 removes US22/DIN2 from the work list. C6. Development of the next revision of Fortran WG5 directs its primary development body, INCITS/Fortran, to prepare a new revision of the Fortran standard, which should include the items listed in the revised work list, N2246. C7. Timeliness of the revision of the standard WG5 notes that the editor has requested that, to meet the target dates in the strategic plan, all but small edits need to be completed by the end of the October 2025 meeting of the primary development body. C8. Technical Corrigendum WG5 approves N2244 as the annotated technical corrigendum and instructs the Convenor to submit a version without annotations to ISO. C9. Appreciation of INCITS/Fortran WG5 expresses its appreciation to INCITS/Fortran for its work on the next revision of Fortran. WG5 congratulates the Editor, Malcolm Cohen, for the high quality and speed of his work, and Reuben Budiardja, for his chairing of the INCITS/Fortran committee. C10 Appreciation of Steve Lionel WG5 expresses its appreciation to Steve Lionel for his work as WG5 Convenor and for maintaining the WG5 website which ensures that WG5 documents continue to be publicly available. C11. Future meetings WG5 thanks Chris Brady for offering to host the summer 2026 WG5 meeting in Warwick, England and Magne Haveraaen for offering to host the 2027 WG5 meeting in Bergen, Norway. WG5 accepts both invitations. C12. Meeting host WG5 thanks Damian Rouson for hosting the WG5 meeting at Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory, and thanks his colleague Kate Rasmussen for arranging for provision of the meeting rooms, live agenda, audio-visual facilities, and refreshments. The live agenda has been very helpful. C13. Vote of thanks for support of the meeting WG5 expresses its appreciation to the Convenor (Steve Lionel), the Secretary (Lorri Menard) and the Drafting Committee (John Reid, Daniel Chen, Tom Clune, and Masayuki Takata) for their contributions to the success of the meeting.
