ISO/IEC JTC1/SC22/WG5-N2260 RESOLUTIONS OF THE WG5 MEETING HELD ON JUNE 15 AND 19, 2026 AT WARWICK UNIVERSITY, UK The meeting was attended by the Convenor and 16 members from four national member bodies. Resolutions W1 to W4 were approved by unanimous consent. Resolutions W5 to W9 were approved by unanimous acclaim. W1. Strategic plan for 2025-2028 WG5 confirms the strategic plan in document N2248. W2. Work list WG5 resolves that these items be removed from the work list N2249: US06. Provide a mechanism to specify global binding name for non C-interoperable. US07. Improve rank-independent functionality. US10. Add a Fortran-friendly preprocessor. US13. Add namespace-like access to module entities. US18. Allow Polymorphism in Coarrays US24 Add rank-independent looping DIN3a Add support for atomic operations in local memory W3. Recommendation for future work WG5 requests its primary development body, INCITS/Fortran, to continue development of item US10, with a view to future standardization. W4. Development of the next revision of Fortran WG5 directs its primary development body, INCITS/Fortran, to continue processing the revision of the Fortran standard, including the items listed in the work list N2261. W5. Appreciation of INCITS/Fortran WG5 expresses its appreciation to INCITS/Fortran for its work on the next revision of Fortran. WG5 congratulates the Editor, Malcolm Cohen, for the high quality and speed of his work, and Reuben Budiardja, for his chairing of the INCITS/Fortran committee. W6. Appreciation of Steve Lionel WG5 expresses its appreciation to Steve Lionel for his work as WG5 Convenor and for maintaining the WG5 website. W7. Meeting host WG5 thanks Chris Brady for hosting the WG5 meeting at Warwick University, thanks his colleague Heather Ratcliffe for her assistance at the meeting itself, thanks the University for the provision of three meeting rooms and thanks Kate Rasmussen for the provision of the live agenda. W8. Support of the meeting WG5 expresses its appreciation to the Convenor (Steve Lionel), the Secretary (John Reid), and the Drafting Committee (John Reid, Hidetoshi Iwashita, Damian Rouson, Dan Bonachea, and Magne Haveraaen) for their contributions to the success of the meeting.
